Hey, Sunshine!

Hey, Sunshine is a self-initiated passion project. A journaling app and stationery brand designed to make emotional wellness feel soft, friendly, and accessible.

The Challenge:
Most wellness apps and products rely on clean, minimal aesthetics. But healing isn’t always neat. It’s messy, personal, and deeply human. I wanted to create a brand that embraced imperfection and gave users permission to show up exactly as they are.

Design Approach:
Hey, Sunshine! is designed to feel like a warm, cheerful friend. The tone is optimistic but never fake. Supportive, but never preachy. Every element from the logo and packaging to the app interface and affirmations, was designed to feel personal and emotionally safe.

Key design choices include:
• A floral pattern to evoke warmth and honesty
• Rounded typography for a friendly, non-intimidating tone
• A soft, optimistic palette inspired by sunshine and morning calm
• Emotion-led microcopy to support journaling as self-compassion

Outcome:
This project allowed me to explore how branding can support emotional well-being, not just through aesthetics, but by creating an environment that feels emotionally intuitive.
